And while the vast legacy of traditional and vernacular earthen construction has beenwidely discussed, little attention has been paid to the contemporary tradition of earth architecture.
This thesis deals with earth as a building material, and provides asurvey of all of its applications and construction techniques while explaining its specific qualities and thepossibilities of optimising them.
