During college I had a professor, Dr. G, who helped me understand what the teachers in High School failed to teach. This way of writing an essay was not crated by Dr. G, but he inspired a way to write an essay faster.
G pointed out the main problem with essays is organization. Hopefully this will help anyone in high school whom has yet to write a proper essay. Also I wrote this because most of my teachers said an essay is "beginning, three topics, end.
If you get this as an answer from a teacher this ible is like a breath of fresh air. I know everyone says "use an outline. Just a few words will do. For example, topic: dogs 1. entertainment 3. reminder to walk The picture above is an example from a narrative essay I wrote.
it's enough to understand what will be told, but not enough to know exactly what happened. Done, an Informal Outline. after the informal outline is done move on to the next step. Writing can seem hard, I use an modified outline method to fix this. For example, Thesis Statement: Dogs are mans best friend General Statement: dogs are great companions Supporting: For example, dogs are used to give patients company, so they have something to look forward to.
General Statement Supporting: To explain, a General Statement is what should be used to start a paragraph, which is followed by supporting sentences. Also an example above showing similar.
red is a general statement, green is supporting. The Topic and supporting sentences are repeated until all topics have been addressed. Also don't forget to add the thesis statement. When finished move on to the next step. Any good paper has a good beginning and ending. How to write a well written essay essays will require some back store before jumping into what is being talked about.
for example, see picture 1 above I talk about what lead up to the event, and about where I was working. then the thesis statement in red. In some essays this is not required and a strong thesis statement is all that needed. I recommend use of an intro for narrative and comparison essays. Next, a conclusion is just a thesis statement stated with different words. for example, see picture 2 above, how to write a well written essay.
The thesis statement is in red and conclusion is in green. The two say basically the same thing, the day was bad. however, the first statement does not include any information that comes after in the essay it's self, and the conclusion does. Also, how to write a well written essay, after a conclusion has been drawn one must take the reader a step further.
for instance, see picture 3. I find this the easiest thing to do and can be done with one sentence. all that is being done is more information is being added. thus, taking the reader a step further. on to the next step. This step is more of a checklist. unless "The" is at the beginning of the Title. almost forgot, make sure your name is on the paper. That is all for this step.
All that is left is to have meany people look though the essay to find any typos or errors. I find about 3 - 4 people works best. Final Remarks, This is from a undergraduate at a community college. all you can really expect is a high school level paper at best. without understanding how to write a good sentence it is impossible to write a good essay. I recommend this to anyone who just needs help composing sentences into an essay. one more thing, I also recommend using a computer and a word editing program.
If the teacher wants it hand written, type the essay on the computer first then copy everything down onto paper. how to write a well written essay so will save time, paper, and ink. I might make an ible on sentence structure later. for extra reading materials on the subject I recommend a book my teacher, Merrill Glustrom, wrote. Great tips, thanks! The how to write a well written essay of each topic will depend on how much information you have, how to write a well written essay, and how long the essay needs to be. while, a 2 page paper could be made from a article in a magazine. For Idea development I just write anything that comes to mind, about that subject, until something just resonates with me. I hope I have answered your questions.
